Good point about the Matrix shows . On paper , I think "wow, this should be WAY cool", but , though I enjoy them, they miss something, even in the instrumental department . Maybe this is the topic of another thread, but wasn't Billy absent from these show also ? What impact did his absence have on the sound of these shows ? I definitely think the 3 axemen, and their interaction, were the most indispensable members of the band , but how was their sound without Billy ?
( I can also think of that jam from Hart's barn in 71).
